It's Time to Challenge the Streak Again!

I haven't been following WWE regularly for a number of months now. I do, however, watch all the pay-per-views. And of course, as all WWE fans know, this is the season for the most important PPV of all: Wrestlemania.

I don't know all the matches yet but the two that I know of will surely make WM27 EPIC.

First, The Rock is back! And he's challenged John Cena to a 'Mania match. I mean, it's The Rock! His and Austin's era was by far the best, even if I've only experienced small parts of it. It's been 7 years since he stepped into a ring. I'm hoping that by being back, he'd bring back even just a little bit of the Attitude Era, like when DX regrouped the last 2 times.

Sigh. I miss DX.

Then there's the Undertaker vs. Triple H match. It's not the first time they'll be facing each other but... I don't know. I'm really nervous about this match. I'm sure it's gonna be mind-blowing. Both of them are already legends. The thing that's bothering me is that they're both in the "retirement-ready" age. I mean, Shawn Michaels retired last year. Ric Flair the year before last. All during 'Mania. It's like they have this formula of retiring legends by putting them in a match with another legend. I just don't wanna lose either Triple H or The Undertaker. Frankly, they're the only reason I watch WWE now, plus Edge, Randy Orton, and John Cena. The new guys are fine - some are quite good, but I still haven't found anybody really worth following.

One of the things I seriously, indisputably want to do in my life is watch The Undertaker LIVE in a 'Mania match, preferably ringside. That would cost me my lifesaving. The roundtrip plane ticket alone costs a fortune. Then there's accommodation and food. And the 'Mania ticket itself.

I've only been working for a year and my pay isn't high. I need another year to save up. I'm determined to make this particular dream come true. I just need one more year. Pls. Undertaker, hold on for another Wrestlemania. I just need a year. I'm doing my best to earn extra besides my day job pay. I'm sure I'll get there next year.

Fashionable Wrestlers

I am so spaced out today. I had a mental note to turn the TV on by 9PM because RAW would be on then. I did, but failed to switch the channel. So for about half an hour I was on my laptop with either Disney Channel or Cartoon Network on the background. Then I remembered that I was supposed to be watching something. The show was already half done. Lol. Sometimes I just don't know where my brain is.

Anyway, I'd just like to comment about wrestlers' attires. From time to time, they come out to the ring wearing regular clothes. Only a few of them look decent in them. I don't know why but some just look awkward in regular clothes. 

Here are my top 5 best dressed WWE Superstars (because all the Divas can dress):

1. Christian - looks good in formal, casual, and ring attire

2. The Miz - probably the most fashionable Superstar, hate his ring attire though

3. Batista - when he's wearing a suit

4. Triple H - looks awesome in jeans and a t-shirt

5. Edge - next to Miz, also has the best wardrobe

Special mentions:

Randy Orton - because he looks good in anything (and nothing probably)

John Morrison - when he's not wearing pants with fluffy cuffs

Chris Jericho - looks very respectable in a suit

Evan Bourne - looks nice in casual clothing

About the Cena's gauntlet match... Well, it was fine. Orton is really funny though. I don't know why but they've got sort of a weird bromance going on. Haha.

The Only Straight Edge World Heavyweight Champion

WWE is blurring the lines between admirable and despicable by portraying CM Punk, the Straight-Edge Superstar, as a heel.

To be fair to him, Punk really does the whole preachy character quite well. I've become irritated by him when at first he was one of my favorites. Well, alright, I still think he's good, but he keeps on saying the same things over and over! Will someone please write him some new material? At least use different words even when stating the same idea.

What concerns me is this: Punk's clean lifestyle is the perfect thing to advocate now that they are making the shows "more PG". However, because they pitted him against Jeff who, as much as I love him, is indeed a not-so-good role model outside of the ring but possesses a charisma that Punk obviously lacks, kids would predictably take Jeff's side and view Punk as a villain along with his exemplary lifestyle. He (Punk) would now be classified as a killjoy along with their parents who are probably reprimanding them for watching such violence, even if we all know it's staged.

I love WWE and I don't want them to one day be shunned and protested against by concerned parents. I also do not want them ignoring their social responsibility by shining a negative light on someone who brings forth something worth emulating especially by kids. I grew up watching WWE but back then, the storylines didn't incorporate the wrestler's personal lives so I didn't know if one of them was a drug abuser or what. It's more dangerous now because children might not see the difference between the character/persona and the real person of these athletes.

Jeff is a tremendous wrestler and should be looked up to as such. I admire him for being able to kick the habit for over a year and I hope he could keep it up longer. It's just that his personal life gets broadcasted all over the Internet and even on TV and these news almost always put him in a bad light. His recent arrest, for example. If these things were kept from impressionable people, then I wouldn't care whatever he does because he would only be seen by the kids as a wonderful artist and a talented performer. I believe that these are the characteristics that he embodies the most and I'm a fan of his because of this.

As for Punk, he deserves better marketing. True, Smackdown needs main eventers so they are building him up. But I think this strategy is actually breaking him down. Okay, so he followed through with his promise of recapturing the title, which is supposed to add to his credibility. But he does not (yet) have that certain quality that the best heels, e.g. Edge and Jericho and Orton, have. So far I don't think this villainy is working for him. I don't know. Maybe I'm mistaken. I mean, making him look like the bad guy means making staying sober and clean attributes of a bad guy. So what exactly is WWE contributing to society?

Payback (WWE Hell in a Cell 2009)

It's only a fortnight away. 

Someone has to pay for that abominable decision.

I do kind of agree with another blogger who said that having more than one Hell in a Cell in one show (or in one year even) diminishes the impact of the match style. Personally, I've kind of reserved this kind of match for the Undertaker only (Kane, too, a little bit). I mean, they're supposed to be "evil" and all (which Undertaker is NOT, even though he says that he's after people's souls. Haha.) so the name fits, right?

Okay, enough of that. 

Cena vs. Orton in a Hell in a Cell match, a rematch for the WWE Championship

I did like their match at Breaking Point. I am happy for John, I really am, but I would have liked Orton to hold the title a little longer. He is a really awesome heel. And unlike the others who utter the same lines time after time (think Punk and Jericho, although Y2J doesn't bug me as much), Orton has this general villain feel that is so natural it looks effortless. It's like I can't remember a time when he wasn't a heel (when was that again?). He is becoming Edge-like, a perpetual "bad guy" who is ultimately effective he can't be anything else. But the great thing about Orton is that he is not really a villain. He is more like an anti-hero. He saves us from too much John Cena (lol. I still *heart* Cena, mind you).  

I'd really like to see what these two will come up with inside that huge structure.

DX vs. Legacy in a Hell in a Cell match

Although I hated seeing a legend tap out to newbies, I think it's great that Ted and Cody have finally extracted themselves from Randy Orton's shadow. I really think these two guys are talented. I mean, it's in their blood!

As for this match, well... I don't know what they're gonna do. If Legacy loses, then that historic win would have been for naught. If DX loses, then their "toughest tag team" reputation, which was deteriorated by the first tap out, would be completely ruined. All I can think of as a decent outcome is a disqualification for outside interference or something. Wait, they'll be in a cell. What the heck. Just make the cell collapse then.

Punk vs. The Undertaker in a Hell in a Cell match for the World Heavyweight Championship (right?)

It is totally impossible for Punk to win this unless Teddy Long helps him out again. Oooh, I wonder if Taker has a new submission move?

I know they're trying to build Punk up. I do think they were successful in doing that during the Jeff era, but come one, pit him against the Undertaker? Seriously?

Since Batista will now be working Friday nights, he might take Taker out of Punk's hands. Better yet, have him feud against some new guy. Wait, Jack Swagger's in Raw, right? That would've been a good match. Swagger's talented and they're about the same size. I doubt it'd be Morisson since he's still got that pest Ziggler to deal with (teach him how to impromptu; have Edge do it while he's recuperating). Who else... Y2J and Big Show have Mark Henry and MVP. Mike Knox? Finlay? Ooh, that dude Drew McIntyre? But he's already got R-Truth. Well, Matt Hardy's available. He's more of Punk's match than Batista's but he does need building up so why not?

Somewhat Disjointed Thoughts While Watching WWE Breaking Point

First match: The Big Show and Chris Jericho vs. MVP and Mark Henry in a tag team match for the Unified Tag Team Championship

I'm glad whoever is responsible for the entrance music made a better remix of Jericho's and BIg Show's music. 

They allowed win via pinfall. Jericho and Show won. Show big right hand to Henry's jaw.

Match 2: The Miz vs. Kofi Kingston for the United states Championship

Miz delivered his usual pre-match speech in French. Hehe.

There were about what, a dozen near falls. Adik. The ref's hand must really hurt right now. Btw, Miz showed significant improvement. Good for him. 

Kofi wins via Trouble in Paradise and pinfall.

Hey, I thought ALL matches are submission matches?

Match 3: DX vs. Legacy in Submissions count anywhere (now the fun begins!)

Montreal screamed "You screwed Bret!" as DX performed their usual spiel. 

Really funny. 

Triple H acknowledged the crowd, then pointed at Shawn and said, "It's all his fault!" 

Haha. He kids. But they're both part of it. It's a long time ago. The funny thing is, after that, everybody cheers for them anyway. 

Everybody's still screaming "You screwed Bret" as the match went outside to somewhere else in the arena. 

Confusing. They're still bitter about the montreal screwjob but they cheer DX, and they boo Legacy. So what the hell do they want?

Triple H tapped out once on Cena. Did not like that. Pinfall is much more dignified. But as I said in a previous post, I believe Cena when he says he has no breaking point.

Micahels locked into a Figure 4 around a post by Cody Rhodes along with Ted DiBiase with the Million Dollar Dream. Triple H rolls out onto the ramp but was too late. Shawn tapped out.

I HATE it. DX is the best. Well, maybe they're building up these two. They really are talented boys. They are. But still.

It's DX! Two legends in one awesome team! Why would they want to take away from their impenetrable rebellious image?

That was a good, long match though. 

Match 4: Kane vs. The Great Khali in a Singapore Cane Match

These two have been at it since... I don't know. Can't remember. I think it's really awesome though, with all those singapore canes. I would really really like to see another Punjabi Prison match though. Batista Spider-man-ing out of that bamboo cage was absolutely magnificent.

Khali's little bro interferes by smashing a singapore cane over Kane's back. Did not do anything.

Kane chokeslams Khali and wins via pinfall. I don't know how he can chokeslam that mammoth of a guy.

Intermission: Eve interviews CM Punk; Jimmy Wang Yang interrupts by switching off the light just as the two were talking about the Undertaker. Hahaha. So freakin' funny.

Match 5: Christian vs. William Regal for the ECW Championship

I find William Regal extremely annoying. He doesn't even have any redeeming characteristic. Nothing. So he was the 2008 King of the Ring. So what. It's late 2009. Get over it.

Christian receives a super warm welcome from his countrymen. 

Vladimir Kozliv and Ezekiel Jackson get banned from ringside. I'm going to miss them.

After successfully countering several Killswitch attempts, Regal got nailed by one in the end and lost.

Match 6: John Cena vs. Randy Orton in an I Quit Match for the WWE Championship

In terms of popularity, these two are at par with each other. The boos and the yeys for each are more or less equal, which I think is great. 

This is a good match up. I am genuinely worried for both of them. They both have never quit before, but based on the two I Quit matches that I remember, it WILL get ugly. I have seen Cena looked all smashed up but Randy... He is indeed sturdy but I hope he survives this.

I think the hardest part here is having to talk while cringing in pain. Props for being able to have presence of mind under such pressure. 

Randy has handcuffs! Haha. Kinky, guys. 

"Do you wanna quit, Cena?" the referee asked.

"NO!" John spat into the mic with extreme annoyance. 

Randy's taking the handcuffs off. What do you have in mind, Orton?

Oh, he cuffed John's hands together. And now he hung him on a ring post. 

"You ain't passing out on me, boy!" Randy screamed at John as he splashed water on his face.

"Do you quit, Cena?" the referee asked.

Cena spat water on Randy's face as an answer.

Now Randy's spanking Cena's completely exposed midsection with a singapore cane. This is bordering on torture.

Ohh. Randy got hit with a Betlog buster (low blow)!

Now John is handcuffed to a turnbuckle. Come on, guys. I want you two chasing each other around.

My skin crawls every time Cena lets out a cry of agony.

Randy missed a steel chair hit. Cena slammed him onto the hard floor, took the key, and now Randy is handcuffed to John!

Cena gained momentum, got back into the ring, attempted an Attitude Adjustment then BAM. RKO.

STF!!!!!! While handcuffed!!!!! Randy quits!

The Champ is BACK!!!!!

I can't believe Randy quit though. Well, of course one of them had to. I still think he's good. Good heel (oxymoronic much?). Great match!

Cena celebrates by standing on a second rope and screams, "I DID NOT QUIT!" 

Hahaha. Yes, John, we know. The marks on his abdomen look really painful. 

What happens to Orton now? I wonder what he's got planned for a rematch.

Match 7: CM Punk vs. The Undertaker in a submission match for the World Heavyweight Championship

The Anaconda Vice is no match for Hell's Gate.

The Undertaker has never submitted and he never will. NEVER.

Here comes the Undertaker!!!

"He doesn't seem intimidated at all," said one commentator.

"Sometimes you can't judge a book by its cover," replied the other.

Everybody is intimidated by the Undertaker.

After a foiled attempt at an Old School. the Undertaker recovered and employed an out-of-nowhere Hell's Gate. Punk taps out!

Ah, great. Teddy Long brings up the banishment of the Hell's Gate. Match resumes. I want to KILL Teddy Long.

Watching Smackdown 09.13.09

Yes, WWE has resorted to schoolyard name calling.

First, they started calling Chris Jericho "Christina" and the Big Show... I forgot. It has something to do with his size. Well, Shaq started this and I definitely am NOT loving it. It's so childish and immature. But just now, the new Intercontinental Champion John Morrison gave Dolph Ziggler a cute new nickname: Mr. Ziggles. I know that it's as bad as Christina, but it just sounds so adorable! Mr. Ziggles! A huge fluffy teddy bear comes to mind.

Really. This going PG business is starting to chip away the Superstars' tough image. Not ideal. I miss the Attitude Era.

Okay, I would just like to say that if Michelle McCool were really injured, she wouldn't be wearing heels that high with her crutch. In fact, she wouldn't be wearing heels at all. Come on, if they're gonna fake it, at least be realistic.

Also, his accent may somewhat be cute, but Drew McIntyre is starting to annoy me. I'm happy for him for getting all that air time though.

Ah, I remember screaming myself hoarse during Matt Hardy's entrance when Smackdown came here 3 years ago. I seriously am concerned about his injury. Did his intestines really explode?! How painful could that have been?! And how did they fix that? Did the doctors stitch every bit together? I'm starting to picture a Jeepers Creepers-like thing. I'll stop now.

Right now, Matt's in a submission match with Punk, kind of like a taste of what could happen tomorrow. I wonder how he (Punk) could wrestle with a tongue stud. I mean, doesn't it hurt when he gets slammed around? What if it suddenly came off and he swallowed it? Ouch.

Yes, Figure 4 by Matt Hardy. Good.

Ah, crap. He made Matt tap. I don't know what that submission move is called. It's an arm behind the head thing. Looks way less painful than a Figure 4.

Hahaha. Undertaker stole the championship belt! The music started and the lights shut off. When it came back up, Punk's empty handed and 'Taker's at the entrance holding it up.Panalo.

Btw, I love his new outfit. Black sleeveless leather trench coat, kinda like that guy the Hurricane's (what's his non-superhero name again?). The Undertaker's is way cooler though. It has big dull mean-looking studs aroud the top (nech and shoulders and a bit of the chest area). Really nice. Although he looks like he aged about 5 years. What happened? I mean, he isn't 50 yet (he has at least a couple more years), so why does he look so old?

Someone is Bound to Break at Breaking Point

WWE Breaking Point airs tomorrow, September 14, 2009 at 8AM and 9PM on JackTV here in the Philippines.

Yes, we are truly lucky to not have to pay a separate fee for this potentially awesome PPV. I *heart* JackTV. I really do.

I can't wait until tomorrow. This is the first of its kind - a brand new PPV that has all matches as a submission match. This is going to be really interesting and exciting. I would really love to see the match of Cena vs. Orton, and the Undertaker vs. CM Punk. 

I have seen Cena in at least one I Quit match. He does not quit. I believe it when he says that he doesn't have a breaking point. As for Orton... Although I would like to believe that he is a chicken in a tough guy suit, he has held on to that WWE Championship for a long time, even though mostly through outside interference.  He even legally defended the title during that series of matches with Cena at SummerSlam. So I'm gonna give him props for that. 

As for 'Taker and Punk's match, I just really would like to see Punk tap out to that submission move of 'Taker. I cannot remember the name just now, but it is brutal. I am still peeved about that stunt Punk pulled last week imitating Jeff, face paint and all. I know he's only made to do that by the writers, but still. Superstars have enough creative freedom to say no or at least do the deed less despicably. But I guess they really wanna develop Punk's heel character. Okay.

Since there's less than 23 hours left in my waiting, I will now give the topic a rest until after I've seen it. :)

Jeffrey, I Hate It That You Left

He did really leave. For a moment I thought he changed his mind and signed another contract. I expected him to just disappear after SummerSlam. But he showed up the week after in SmackDown and I was ecstatic. It turned out that it was just a closure thing, to say goodbye. I don't know; I'm torn between wanting to see him just a little longer and just abruptly cutting him out like yanking off a bandage quickly.

Anyway, it was a pretty nice goodbye. I did not get emotional though. I thought I would have. I mean, I cried when Rick Flair left and I wasn't even a big fan of his. Well, I guess it's because he's a legend. But Jeff is well on his way to becoming one, if only he stays a little longer next time. But no, I'm not going to join any petition asking him to come back. He needs to relax and regroup. After everything that happened to him last year, he deserves a good, long rest. Of course, he should get himself checked out. All those Swanton Bombs from extreme heights surely had some significant impact on him. How can he not have broken bones?!

So SmackDown lost another Superstar. But The Undertaker is back. Right now, he alone is the reason I watch SD. Oh, scratch that. Him and John Morrison. That guy is becoming really really good. His match with Rey Mysterio where he won the Intercontinental Championship was seriously acrobatic! I think they're building him up to be the next Jeff. Hmm. He is skilled enough but he lacks the charisma. I don't know, Jeff has this thing that just makes you pay attention to him. Is it the hair? I don't know. I miss him though.

My Ultimate Dream

is to watch The Undertaker win LIVE at WrestleMania.

Preferably from the front row. 

I'm watching ECW right now and they showed an "encore presentation" of the Taker vs. Michaels match last WM25. It was one of the awesomest matches I have ever seen. Just watching a montage of it brought tears in my eyes (just a teeny weeny bit anyway). Taker is just... awesome AND legendary (move over, Barney Stinson!).

I was fortunate enough to see live performances of Taker, once when I was about 6 or 7 and the second just three years ago. Man, the uproar during his entrance was totally deafening. I screamed myself hoarse. Even though I was up in Upper B (or was it Upper A? Where the hell did I keep those tickets?) and the guy beside me smelled like garbage, it was like those slow-mo movie moments when something special was happening. It's the Undertaker right there, only a few feet (and levels) away. 

Sigh. Well, this is one of those times when I'm sad because I have nobody who feels as strongly as I do about this. I can't share the glee of his return with anyone. I screamed like an adolescent at a boyband concert when he returned at SummerSlam. But I have no one who gets just how I felt. For them, it's just... I don't know, just some wrestler. But he's not. He's iconic. He's The Undertaker.

Okay, I'm ending this rant. I have five more articles to do! I don't wanna do it anymore. Ugh. But I need this. 

BTW, ECW's Christian is just so... He's like a body-slamming boy next door. He has the cutest smile and he's just so charming. Sigh. Fangirl sigh.

Wrestlemania Part Deux

See, there were a lot of people who weren't too happy with the Money in the Bank results. What story are they starting, I wonder? I bet Christian will have a big part in that. Punk-Christian rivalry. Hmm. I don't remember Christian well enough to decide if that's gonna be a good one or not. I just kind of remember that he was there when Chris Jericho was there before and then both of them disappeared. Were they tag teams or something? They also kinda look alike.

I'm getting a little sleepy not.

Oh man, they're showing the Fan Access Tour again. There were people who came all the way from Japan! Goodness! Why am I not there?! That is just so awesome. Come on. Man. I wish, I really sincerely wish, that by the time I'm able to watch Wrestlemania live, Tripe H and the Undertaker are still there. I really really wish that. If Stone Cold could be there too that would be tremendous, even just for a couple of beers.

It's the Kid Rock performance. Hmm.Plaid is really in.

So I'm rewatching Wrestlemania 25 right now. It was pretty awesome. I kinda expected a little more bang with the entrances and stuff but I did miss a couple of matches since there was another "family crisis" awhile ago. Although I did see the performance of Kid Rock. Not a big fan of him but I have to say that his number was great! Really pumped up the event.

Agh. I really wanted to be there. They showed some pre-event stuff like meet and greet and stuff and there were people who came all the way from Australia and Scotland and some other far away places! Ugh. If only I had the money and of course the visa to go there, I would have. I mean, I got the time now. 

I wonder if Wrestlemania 30's gonna be a big deal too. I probably can attend that one. Well, if I don't have a super busy demanding job that is. But I would find a way.

Wow, this ladder match is different. They have Kane and Mark Henry who are HUGE, I think a little too huge for the usual ladder match contestants. Can the ladder actually hold Mark Henry up?

Ah, I missed CM Punk. Now I remember why I had a little crush on him back then. That smile is just... *kilig*

Hornswoggle! Up up and away! 

When I was watching awhile ago, I was having lunch just in time for Shawn Michaels' and Undertaker's match. Man, I could hardly get anything down. I was so scared that the writers have gone completely mad and allowed a 16-1. Takot lang nila. The world would probably riot. Well, there were people who wanted Taker to lose. But that's just stupid. Well, unfair to the legend. Why ruin a perfectly awesome legend? It would be inconsistent with the Undertaker's character and overall story. Shawn Michaels already had loads of wonderful Wrestlemania history-making things. The one with Bret Hart and of course the one with ending Ric Flair's career. This streak is Undertaker's thing. Don't be selfish and take that away from him.

Okay, so it's still the Money in the Bank match. Can't believe CM Punk won again. I mean, I'm not upset by it but I really though Christian would win this or maybe Finlay or Shelton Benjamin, maybe even Hornswoggle. Punk two years in a row? Hmm. 

OK, I'll be back later. Their backs against steel ladders are hard to tear my eyes from. 

Batista is Coming Back!

This is AWESOME!!!

The last time he was here, I had CWTS, I think. Basta it was a Saturday, and I had to rush to Gateway just to drown in the sea of people. I didn't have that Pizza Hut thing, or the arrive early thing. Whatever. Basta I didn't get to see him up close. I do have pictures of him in a cellphone though (have to get that out of there...but how?) But anyway, I was so far away from him that all 6'5 and 300lbs of him looked about the size of an ant.

Bummer, right? And I had to go into and pretend to look around some expensive stores like Lacoste just to get nearer. Argh. All that wait for almost nothing.

Anyway, JackTV says that he's coming back here this March! Yey! They have this promo (the video above) which if you win, you get WWE goodies and a chance to meet Batista in person! AAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

So okay, the question one has to answer is, "Why are you the ultimate WWE fan?"

Yes, I have drafted a wonderful answer to this question, which I will post once the contest ends. I know that nobody ever reads this blog, but I can't take the chance to expose my sincere albeit slightly pathetic-geeky answer to someone else who'd like to join. Seriously. I'm laughing my head off at one of the reasons that I stated. Makes me look like I don't have a life but oh well, it's true!

Summerslam 2008

Happens tomorrow! Yey! One more good thing to add to my lovely long weekend. What excites me most is the return of the Undertaker. Man, he's been gone what, 2 months? And those 2 months, for me, rendered Smackdown barely watchable, if it weren't for Jeff Hardy being there. Lol. The whole Edge-Vickie thing is just... bleugh. It's a really weird storyline. Not convincing at all. That's the kind of storyline that repels audience. I have several friends who used to love watching WWE as much as I do who don't anymore because they feel like it's gotten "too fake". I mean, yeah, everybody knows that everything in WWE is kayfabe. Everything's made up, even how the match ends and all that crap. But I've been watching it since I was what, 4 or 5, and I'm now 21, and I really believe that the past kayfabe-ness is more realistic. I don't know why, maybe past wrestlers are just better actors. But as I said, storylines like that of Edge and Vickie really ruin things. I mean, they did a similar thing with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, right? That was way more believable. And if I may revert to RAW, the thing with Santino and Beth Phoenix, although I think it's kinda cute, really comes across as something they're pushed into doing. Even the fake kissing looks really fake, unlike the Jeff Hardy + Trish Stratus thing which looked really natural even if it's totally fake.

Ah, this is why I want to be a creative writer. I wanna revamp the whole storyline-making process and make it as good as the good ol' days of Stone Cold and The Rock and the first DX. Those days were a hell of a lot of fun.

Oh yeah, and they're actually gonna show this in cinemas here, that's why they're not gonna have a morning showing of it on JackTV. Crap. The one time we get a Monday off with a PPV, that's the time they don't show it in the morning. I don't wanna pay 300php for this. Only Wrestlemania is worth that. Now I have to wait until nighttime to watch it. Argh. Well at least we get it for free!

Jeff Sleeping

My computer's still on hiatus (even longer than the Undertaker's recent "banishment") so I'm using my brother's laptop. He's in the background watching Friends...or whatever.

Anyway, I've given up on reading about the Japanese occupation of the Philippines. I'll do that tomorrow morning. If I get up early, which is unlikely. So I just researched about the current whereabouts of Bobby Lashley (one of my fave wrestlers) and of course, my childhood hero, the Undertaker.

So I found out that Lashley is no longer with WWE. I know it should have been obvious because he's been missing from the ring for like, almost a year now. I just thought that he had a really really bad injury that needed a year to completely heal or something. I was really hoping he'd come back. Oh well. As long as he's happy whatever he's doing right now then that's cool with me. I do hope to see him competing somewhere else though.

I'm starting to wonder about the working conditions in WWE. Well maybe the corporate side isn't so bad (or maybe it's worse!) than the performing side (is that the right term?). It seems like there are a lot of superstars who quit because they were "maltreated" or something. In Lashley's official site www.BOBBY-LASHLEY.net, they said something about the reason why he left. if you remember, Lashley got injured in a match with Mr. Kennedy. That was around August 2007. So he needed surgery and 4 months off. He was scheduled to come back in December but he wasn't contacted by Vince McMahon when the time was nearing. So that kinda frustrated him, and then there was another one about his girlfriend who's a Diva about refusing to do a storyline. So I guess that and other things added up and led to his quitting. So there. I'm just wondering what...what goes on there? I'd really love to be part of the WWE Creative Team some time after I graduate, but I don't know, I don't want to write something that would cause a superstar to quit like that. I've always thought that the creative writers write an assortment of storylines that are equally good, and then they hold meetings with the superstars and let them pick which one they like best or if they want to push a certain storyline, they still discuss it with the superstars involved and compromise if they need to. I thought it was a democracy over there.

So about the title. Lol. Haha. I'm still in my Jeff Hardy phase right now. I was just surfing around and I found these at Emily & Amy's Public Gallery. They have great WWE wallpapers there.

Skittles and Jeff Hardy

I was surfing the net last night, partly researching for my thesis, partly searching for whatever I could find. I just saw Night of Champions a few hours earlier, and the WWE Draft 2008 two days back so my head was still quite full of WWE. So while reading a pretty long pdf file about persuasion theories, I suddenly decided to look for WWE fanfics.

I know, it's weird. About a month ago, I didn't even know those existed. But hey, they were there. So I looked for Jeff Hardy fics. I don't know why. I just really really admire him and his acrobatics and his multi-colored hair. I guess I've unwittingly developed a crush on him or something. Lol.

Anyway, the fics I found were mostly about John Cena. Like 15 out of 20 fics per page are about John Cena. If only it were two years ago, I would've devoured all of it. Haha. So I found a couple of Jeff fics, but regrettably, a paragraph into those works and I'm already bored outta my wits. There was one that kind of held my attention for a bit, but it's like the author's main mode of sustenance is cursing. Every other word is a cuss word. Pity, I actually found the first chapter quite funny.

After a few more fics, I stumbled upon this really cute and hilarious one shot, Feeling Skitty. This is by far the best Matt and Jeff fic I've read, even if it's only like, a page long. It's so cute and funny! And it actually made me go buy Skittles at the grocery today. Lol! :)

Oh, and I just found out that Jeff is already married. Yey for him and her, sniff sniff for me. :( And I saw this preview of a The Hardy Show episode, and Jeff pissed himself! He filmed himself pissing himself. It was really disgusting but a little bit funny too. Yeah, I'm a bit weird. His wife didn't look too happy. Haha. It was such a huge turn off for me though. But I still love him because he's insane. :)

Backlash 2008 and whatever else

So I'm at work again right now and my boss is away so I'm making the most of her 1-hour absence. Haha. She's a nice gal but pretty strict.

I finished everything that she asked me to design and I already sent it to her and her brother for approval. Hopefully they approve of them. I don't wanna have to do those again. I even made choices for them. But if they make me do that again, then I'd have something to do! Yey.

So last night was WWE Backlash 2008. I'm really glad that they didn't put it in pay per view anymore! Three hours of huge guys kicking each other's asses for FREE! Yey. That's what I call a treat, and food for my passive-aggressive side. Haha. Violence ration for the week.

So, what can I say about Backlash this year? Well... I miss Jeff Hardy. Haha. I haven't seen him in a long time. What happened to him anyway?

So, I'm glad Matt Hardy finally won the USA Championship. It's been a long time coming! How long have he and MVP been going at it? I can't even remember. He deserved it. And MVP is just annoying with his nose tape and Power Ranger suit.

For Batista and Shawn Michaes... That is a weird match up for me. But I love them both. So HBK won... I don't know how to react to that. they're both really good wrestlers but of course HBK is more seasoned. I really don't know. And they're fighting over Ric Flair! I mean... what???

Although I did cry all throughout Ric and HBK's Wrestlemania match. Seriously. The whole 30 minutes (or was i 1 hour?)

For Undertaker vs. Edge... All I wanna say is that the Undertaker can never lose unless he's cheated on. And I'm really curious about that new submission hold of his. What is it called? And does it really cause internal bleeding? I mean, that is serious stuff, isn't it? I know people will say, "But WWE is fake! it's all an act!" Is the bleeding through the mouth fake too? Did they somehow manage to keep a ketchup packet in their mouth and open it up during the submission hold? But if the bleeding was real... then isn't it dangerous? Being locked in that hold once would be harmful enough. But what about Edge who got stuck in it twice?

Last but not the least, the fatal four-way. Triple H is absolutely the most deserving to win. I'm sad that they're not DX anymore because he and HBK were a riot. I wonder if they're gonna have a go on each other again.

John Cena really has to discover tanning lotion or tanning booths or something.

Everybody hates Chris Benoit now.

My brain tells me that I should be hating on him too, because what he did is truly horrible. If he did it at all. I still would like to believe that someone else did it and made it look like he did it. But slowly, I'm trying to accept the fact that one of the greatest wrestlers in the business, one who was described to be a family man, a loving father, could do such a horrifying thing. But I still can't bring myself to really curse him to hell. All I'm hoping is that his family's souls rest in peace, and that may God have mercy on his soul.

I'm on a really long break between classes now so I checked out latest news about the investigation of his death. I also checked out MyLot for discussions about him. I did expect hating. I don't know why it still hurt to read people dissing him, saying that he did not deserve any honor.

I agree with them that he did not deserve any honor for what he did. Even if he was famous, that was still a criminal act. But for me, I'd like to remember him as the wrestler that I admired. I mean, it's too late to do anything now. He's dead. They're all dead. Only God can do anything now.

The hard part here is, as a fan, how will I remember his good days without seeming insensitive to his family? They're the victims. They deserve the honor. But I do honor them. I really am sorry for what happened. I am sorry that he did it. Am I supposed to be sorry for being a fan too? If anybody knew how to be a real fan, you'd know how it feels like to feel like a complete stranger is part of your life. Even just a tiny part. When I got the news that Chris died, I was shocked. I didn't expect to feel this bad about it because I didn't know him at all. He's just a wrestler on TV, right? But I did admire him. And I feel like a part of me died.

Someone else said that we should just forget about him. I wanna do this. Just forget it. Because I know that I can't hate him. I'll just pray for the family he's left, the family affected by this.

I'm Torn.

All WWE fans would know that Vince McMahon's "death by limo explosion" is a humongous hoax. It's a very obvious scam to boost the TV points of WWE's shows. Nonetheless, I was at first a bit stunned when my dad told me that Mr. McMahon exploded. I was like, "What?!?!" That's impossible. Did all his bullcrap catch up to him at last and brought him down? I haven't been up to date with the shows, so I checked WWE.com. There it was, the picture of the exploding limo. I still wasn't convinced, so I downloaded that episode of Monday Night Raw. I was right. It was staged.

When my brother rapped his knuckles on my bathroom door awhile ago and told me excitedly that he's got news, I wasn't that interested so I blurted out what came to mind automatically. I asked, "So who died?" He paused, and asked, "So you already know?" And I was like, whoa. Someone really died? I racked my brain for someone who could be dead now. I was thinking that maybe Mr. McMahon really did die or something.

He told me while we were having dinner. I seriously didn't believe it at first because my brother is known to invent things up so I learned to take whatever news he has with a grain of salt. Right after eating, I went up to my room to search for the news. I saw the status message of a friend of mine whom I know watches WWE. It said, "Rest in Peace Benoit" or something like that. I knew right then that it was true.

It's on the WWE homepage now. There's a tribute to him. Here's also an article which explains the police findings and stuff.

It said that Chris Benoit murdered his wife and son and then committed suicide himself. He didn't even make it to a wrestling thing last Saturday and to Vengeance. Some friends of him recieved weird text messages Sunday morning from Chris too so they alerted the police, asked them to kind of check on the Benoit residence. They found him and his family dead.

I'm really really really sad. For me, it's such a great loss to WWE because Chris Benoit is such an amazing wrestler. A lot of people commented on a news article about Chris not being worthy of a tribute since he is said to have done those murders. I do understand their point. If it were any other person that I read about, I'd be like, to hell with him. Why do you cry over him when he's done what he's done? But I've admired Chris for a long time now. And he seemed to be such a nice guy. I mean, he was great friends with Eddie Guerrero. WWE superstars seem to like him a lot, regardless of whatever ploy or storyline the company makes him do. But as a fan, I know I'll never know. I don't know him personally. He may have had some serious problems. As a professional, he didn't bring personal problems to work. I wish he'd sought help or something.

I fully understand people who diss him for what he has supposedly did. But me, I'm going to wait until the investigation ends. I wanna learn all the facts. I really want to know is what drove him to do what he did. I don't think anybody in their right mind would do something like that. I think Chris got really scared. Scared of something. But what? Someone else suggested that it was a side effect of steroids. I don't know. Unless they release the cause of death, we can't draw conclusions. I just wish, if he really did commit suicide, that he had some sort of note or something. I can't believe the authorities aren't looking for suspects. For all we know, he could have been framed. I mean, it could happen, right? Some may look at this as me confusing fiction with reality, but hey, if CSI writers could come up with the weirdest stuff, it could happen in real life. After all, TV is a kind of mirror of real life right? I really wish Chris turns out to be innocent. But that wouldn't be fair to his wife's and his little boy's memories, if he really did it.

Hay. People can really surprise you sometimes, even at the last moment.

The Undertaker vs. Batista, Cena and the other 3

They're gonna be taking on each other again on Backlash a week from tomorrow.

Can't say I'm that excited. It already happened (seems only yesterday when my brother and I were dreaming up that match-up, and now it already happened...), and it was worth the long wait. But I'm not really a fan of rematches. Seeing them together, whether howling on each other or competing in a sure-win tag team match, kind of takes the...you know, what do you call it? It takes the umf! out of the upcoming game. I think it's better to like, keep them apart for a while, you know, let them trash talk each other separately.

But I guess WWE thinks teaming them up builds up the anticipation for Backlash. I don't know, maybe it does. I don't know if it works for me though. Maybe with some cases. But I must admit, Batista and Undertaker's match against Mr. Kennedy and Finlay (I hate that guy) did kind of strengthen the tension between them. I was expecting either of them to turn traitor again at anytime. I guess it's a good thing no one did. I kind of hate seeing Batista turn into a heel, but hey, I guess that's part of career development.

So now we go to RAW.

I'm a fan of John Cena. Really. No matter what anybody says, I think he's a terrific wrestler. He's resilient. He's all about respect. He never quits.

And not forgetting that he has a nice butt.

In spite of that, sometimes, I can't help but feel kind of sad that he retained the championship at Wrestlemania. Shawn Michaels is perfectly deserving of that title. Well, I was thinking that he might be close to retiring so they should, you know, give him a last go at the championship or something. Or maybe he's set to do a Rick Flair and stay at WWE until all the other players are young enough to be his grandchildren.

Hey, I'm not dissing the Nature Boy. He's a legend. Always packed with a hundred or so chops. WOOOOOOOOOOO!

Anyway, about the Fatal 4 way of Cena, Orton, Edge, and Shawn Michaels. Well, I don't know. WWE's strategy now is to drag as many superstars as possible into a feud and set them loose in the ring. I'm not into matches that involve more than 2 people. Great matches are one-on-one matches. I guess it's because the audience can really concentrate on the two of them unlike a 3-way or a 4-way where someone would be pinning someone while the other two take on each other outside the ring... Whatever happens, you'd be missing some sort of action. Someone might get pinned without you watching, and that's like, a tenth of the ticket fee down the drain.

This thing about Shawn and Cena...wasn't that exciting to begin with. Their match at Wrestlemania was way below Lashley's and Umaga's, and Undertaker's and Batista's. Cena taking on a smaller guy just isn't... well, adrenaline-rushing. Hey, I admire Shawn very much. Very very much. He's a sure Hall of Famer. His stint at Royal Rumble with the Undertaker was just so amazing. But Shawn with Cena... I don't know. If they did a feud with Shawn and the Undertaker, then that would get everyone on the edge of their seats.

Cena vs. RKO. Randy and Edge are like a bickering married couple. Who's the girl? I'm not sure yet. But I'm kind of leaning towards Randy for that part. Him screaming "Get out of here!" at Edge during his match with Shawn is so funny.

But that doesn't diminish the fact that Randy is just oh so hot and sexy and I live to marry him someday.

Still, I can't wait 'til Backlash. Expect RKO to betray each other yet again. I'm rooting for Undertaker to retain the championship. If I'm made to choose who'd hold the WWE championship, I'd want Randy or Shawn to have it. But I don't know. If Shawn is WWE champion, what'd happen when Triple H comes back? I love DX. They're a big part of why I'm watching WWE again. I don't want them to break up again. But I've got a feeling that that will happen soon. Maybe within the first half of this year... Whenever Triple H comes back.

I've been dreaming of that since DX reunited. Being on the big side in a predominantly small-framed country, it was hard finding a DX shirt that fit me. I've been looking for one for months!

Ah, I'm the luckiest little sister. I have the best big brother in the world. He gave it to me awhile ago. It was his belated Christmas gift. He chose between giving me a fake wand or the shirt. He chose wisely. He was gonna give me a purple plastic wand. If the wand at stake was an Alivan's, then...that's a different story.

So now... I already have the following shirts:

It sort of became a collection... Maybe I'd even get the "heels" shirt like Mr. Kennedy's and Edge and Randy Orton's. Hmm. I'd have to think about that...

I really don't like shirts with the wrestler's faces plastered all over the front or the back (Hitman shirt is an exception!). I find it weird wearing someone's face...especially if it's in full color. If it's a silhouette then I guess it's okay. Logos and lines are much much cooler for me. They look like cool graphic tees than an all-out in-your-face wrestling shirt. More discreet.
