"Like a Virgin" - Supernatural S6EP12

*spoiler alert*

Sam gets his soul back!

Yeah, did I just spoil it for you? I did warn you though.

Anyway, this is maybe the funniest episode this season so far. The past eps were thrilling, but I missed the softness in Sam that is his soul. Yeah, he is again Mr. Righteous and whiny but the brothers' lovable dynamic is back. It's been so long!

I actually think Dean is funnier with the normal Sam than the soulless one.

So here, the boys are hunting down dragons because the creatures have been kidnapping virgins and taking gold. Dean goes to a professor that specializes in medieval history to consult about killing dragons. A blade forged in dragon blood was needed to do so, and lo' and behold, the professor has one right in the office! And guess what - it was stuck inside a stone. No, it wasn't the Excalibur.

How Dean got it out of the stone is something to be seen. Seriously, go see it now!

And then there's Sam - crafty crafty Sam. He knew that Dean and Bobby were hiding something from him. And since both wouldn't tell him anything - he fished it out of Castiel!

So then afterwards, our heroes charged into sewers wielding the magic blade and rescuing virgins. Lol.

In the end was revealed the Mother of All.

I don't know what will happen - I'm excited to see!

It's All in Our Heads (Supernatural S5 Ep2)

I was thinking just a few moments ago about how I miss the Sam and Dean of seasons 1 & 2. I'm not saying that the intensity of their relationship has degraded; it hasn't. It's just that I miss the fun times and even though Dean is still being a smart ass, it's not the same. Of course they had to take out all the lightness. I mean, hello, they're dealing with the Apocalypse now.

The eve of separation. I will need to find a song for this.

I found this as such a melancholic image at the end of episode 2, "Good God Y'all". the surroundings is beautiful and tranquil. It's a tiny speck of peace amidst the overall chaos. My mind cannot reach the depth of love these two have for each other, which is why I also cannot fathom the hurt Dean must have felt (and is still feeling) when Sam chose Ruby over him.

In this episode, the brothers still worked together but the strain is tangible. But at least they still did their jobs properly. They really are, as Sam said, "professionals". They defeated (or merely delayed?) War, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. I wonder which one is next. I really liked (and am equally disturbed) by the premise of this episode: people kill each other because someone's messing with their heads. There really is no enemy. They are just made to see each other as such by some powerful man *cough cough hint hint*. Because we are so afraid, we just choose to attack and hopefully survive rather than analyze things to get the true picture. Whew.

I am glad that Ellen and Jo are back. At least there's someone else to talk to now that Bobby's all depressed in the hospital. I wonder what nerve he damaged when he stabbed himself in the stomach. Why could he not walk?

I'm eager to see the next episode just to know how they are going to deal with the brothers away from each other by choice. I'm also curious about Castiel's state. He's a fugitive of heaven. What is he exactly?

All I'm hoping is that they tread carefully around God. I read a previous interview of Mischa Collins and he said that he thinks that they (the writers) should keep God abstract. I completely agree. This show has already reached new levels of awesomeness and I don't want it condemned as evil when it clearly battles it.

In the End, There Will be Zombies

The End

Dean refuses Sam's efforts to help him battle the Devil, and then wakes up to find himself five years in the future, in a wasteland where Lucifer has begun his endgame by unleashing a virus that transforms humans into zombies.

This is so AWESOME! I love zombie movies (although I do not want to be one myself), and zombies plus Supernatural? Man. I can't wait to see this episode!

I know, it's gonna be a bit difficult to watch since the brothers will be separated again (I really miss their fun bro-mance times) but hey, what better to bring them together than some good old zombie-killing spree right?

Grab some vinyl discs and a cricket bat now!

The 5th Year Begins

The pilot episode of Supernatural's fifth season took me on a roller-coaster ride of emotions. Of course, I was seriously excited to see it. I waited almost 4 months for it! That may not sound like such a long time, but for one who considers SPN as the highlight of her every week, it seemed like forever. Call me a loser without a life if you want to; I don't care because that is just the way it is for me.

Since it is the first episode, it aroused a lot of questions.

1. What happened to Sam? Why is he all normal? Where did all the black-eyed, blood-drinking go? Is it somewhere laying dormant inside him? Or - heaven forbid - will he end up as the devil's vessel?! As if the rift between the brothers is not deep enough.

2. As much as I rejoice over the fact that Castiel is indeed alive, I'd like to know how that happened. Chuck (the prophet) said that he exploded "like a water balloon of chunky bits" or something to that effect. Last season, he did mention that he had healing abilities. But the finale had him facing archangels alone, and we all know that only angels can kill other angels, and what he faced are archangels. So how come he's alive?

3. This may or may not be a crucial issue but I just would like to know how Bobby got possessed by a demon. After he stabbed himself to get rid of the pest hitching a ride in his body, I got the impression that he will more or less spend the whole season in that hospital bed or somewhere else being immobile. I do not support this. I want Bobby out and fighting with the boys until the end.

For now, those are the ones I can think of. The thing worth noting here is how the good side and the bad side ask for consent. See, the devil is also an angel so he needs a vessel to be able to move around on Earth. Michael the Archangel also needs one, which is Dean. The vessels need to first give the go signal before they can settle inside them.

The angels asked for consent in such a brutal manner that one may think twice about categorizing them under "good". Zachariah broke Sam's leg and took away his lungs, rendered Bobby immobile from the waist down, and gave Dean stage 4 stomach cancer, just to push him to say yes. It was almost heartless but at least they were up front and honest with their motives. They clearly stated that the fight should start right away so Michael urgently needs his vessel. They will go to any lengths to get it and win.

The devil, on the other hand, appeared as an innocent-looking lady who put on a whole "I'm misunderstood" drama and utilized the misfortunes of the man (the vessel) to convince him to give his consent. How sly and cunning and oh so detestable yet effective. He/It got a yes while the angels failed miserably.

I am in no mood to delve into a theological reflection about this one, although I would like one of my Theo profs to watch this whole series and give me commentaries and stuff. It would be so cool if he used this as a material in class.

The most memorable scenes:

Becky, the webmistress of Morethanbrothers.com --> a website dedicated to slash Sam/Dean fanfiction

Dean: A life as an angel condom? I'll pass.

"We can't go back to the way we were. I don't think I can trust you anymore." ~Dean to Sam

This was the final, most heartbreaking dialogue in this episode. I sat stunned for a bit. I mean, SPN is distinguished by the strong brotherhood of these two characters. They are the epitome of bro-mance. I just cannot imagine the show if that was taken away.

Don't give up on Sammy, Dean.

Angels and Demons Indeed

*WARNING* Spoilers of Supernatural 4x16

I...

That episode was...

Okay. Deep breath.

Supernatural gets harder and harder to watch each week, not because it's getting bad (although this was sort of the case the last three or four episodes) but because of all the... pain.

Everything is just too painful! The secrets, the past, the hidden feelings, the duty and responsibility, and of course, the inevitable.

But this episode, episode 16, made up for all the less than fabulous (didn't wanna say crappy because Supernatural is, even at its worst, always an inch or more above crappy) the past month. It also made up for the month-long hiatus. This episode was simply... awesome. It revealed so much, explained a lot and of course added more pain and despair into the mix.

Why do they keep doing that to Dean?!

My thoughts while watching this episode:

  • Why does Castiel always has that expression like a puppy has just been killed? Sometimes he alternates it with looking constipated.
  • Sammy is such a dumbass/asshole and also the hottest evil dude ever. I swear, he got cuter.
  • In my opinion, Dean has every right to legally own the cry, "Why do bad things always happen to me?!"
  • And really, why does everything always happen to Dean? What did he ever do to deserve this?
  • I think I've heard this somewhere else, but it still made my "Top t-shirt-printable quotes" list:
Alister to Dean: "Go straight to Hell. Do not pass go, do not collect 200."
It's extra funny because Dean was torturing him. Okay, it doesn't sound funny right now especially with the torture thingy but really, you have to see it to get it. Or maybe I just have a weird ass sense of humor.
  • I absolutely loathe Ruby and Sam is the stupidest person in the whole world. What does he think he's doing?! Dean's right from the get go. Ruby's e DEMON. You CAN'T TRUST demons. Ever. What did he go all vampire-y for?
  • This reminds me of Harry Potter. Harry turned out to be one of the Horcruxes he was tasked to destroy. Dean turned out to have broken the first seal and consequently started the process of the apocalypse, which seals he was saved from hell for to help keep from being broken.
  • These are all some of the angels' fault.

Okay. So far that's it. I would really love to watch the next episode but I have to get up early in the morning for I have an all day seminar to attend. And it's almost 4:30AM. Hmm. Now I want my pancakes.

2 More Months 'Til Supernatural 4

I have no life now. Lol. Waiting for the next season is sheer torture, so right now I'm filling the empty spaces with classic horror films like Night of the Living Dead, Children of the Corn, and Hellraiser. I also bought chick flicks like A Knight's Tale, It Could Happen to You, Ghost, and Cruel Intentions. Since I have two more days of wonderful nothingness at my disposal, I'm gonna have a mini horror fest of my own. I have The Craft, Practical Magic and Beetlejuice here. That's gonna be fun, especially with one big bucket of popcorn. Mmm!

So last night, while I was feeling giddy because of all the free time (which I actually have to spend studying and doing thesis, but you know me, procrastinator), I decided to be a little creative and indulge my Supernatural craving.

Here's the result:

Hahaha. And this one is my LJ userpic:

I painstakingly re-watched one of the episodes (3.14, I think) and slow motioned everything just to be able to snapshot good scenes of the Winchester bros. There actually are some other nice pics that I'm gonna turn into banners/icons later when I feel like being creative again.

Compatibility Quiz

Seriously?!

I'm more like Dean?!

Can't believe it.

Oh well, Dean's hot. But I'll always be Sammy's girl. :p

Wait, so if I'm like Dean, then doesn't that mean that Sam and I should be compatible because he and Dean get along so well?

I was very very very tempted to take this quiz ten more times, just to see what the other results are, if there actually is a You are Very Compatible with ____. 'Coz I've read the comments where other quiz-takers posted their results and I didn't see anybody get more than three shaded hearts for each guy.

Wasting Time

It's exactly 5:33 in the time card puncher thingy. I can't wait to get outta here.

So okay, tomorrow is Labor Day and I have no idea if I have to go to work tomorrow or if I can relax at home. My boss hasn't come back yet and I think I'd be outta here already when she does. I have to text her about this. I'd be really bummed if I had to come in tomorrow. It's a freaking holiday! I don't know if it is a working or a non-working holiday, but I don't care, because I'm not getting paid anyway!

Maybe it would be a good thing if I had to come in tomorrow. I mean, that would be one day closer to ending this right? But I'm looking forward to hanging out with my friends, although our swimming/picnic trip is in danger of being canceled (if it isn't already) because of lack of cars. But still, I'd love to kick back and watch DVDs all day tomorrow. And I hope it rains too. That would just make my day.

Anyway, for the past couple of hours, I've been redesigning my Mother's Day promo materials. My boss's brother is their brand manager so he checks my designs and everything. i have to say, I learned more from him today than I have the past week. His comments are actually helpful.

Time: 5:39 PM. I'm still here. Haha. I have three Ghost Hunters International downloading now, and one is about to be done in 20 minutes. I'm just gonna wait for that while I pass the time rambling on about senseless things.

I forgot to call Summit Media today. But if it's true that I actually have to spend 9 more days here, I'd be done by May 14, and I'm scared that it might be too late for me to work at Summit. But I'd really love to, even if i spend all May there. At least i'd still have one week in June to be a bum, and I had the first week of April for that too.

I do miss being a bum. Seriously. That's been my career all my life and now I find myself waking up at 6:30 in the morning every weekdays and actually feel like I'm used to it. I've been doing this for exactly three weeks now and I'm tired of it. I don't wanna anymore...

What if I had to do this every single day for the rest of my life?

Yeah, pretty soon I'd have to. I only have a year of school left. I'm gonna get shoved into the real world. I am TERRIFIED. I don't want my life to be like this every single day. For 9 hours I sit in front of a computer and do whatever. Write letters and design flyers and posters in this cramped little room with a banshee for a companion. Seriously. I mean, my workmates here are nice and all, and maybe it's my time of the month, but there are two here that got into my nerves today. They are so loud! Luckily the first one already went home. The other one is still here, and it's killing me. She talks to herself, LOUDLY. Like, shouting. I wanted to strangle her awhile ago.

OK, so I'm evil. But I really value my privacay, and there's just none of that here. And she is especially noisy today. But maybe it's just that time of the month.

Inhale. Exhale. I'm trying to calm myself down and try not to think of my grumbling stomach. I have less than 10 minutes to go before the clock sings its wonderful tune of freedom.

Let me try to distract myself.

So last night, I watched the latest episode of Supernatural. It was weirdly funny. Sam and Dean were supposedly accidentally included in a reality show very much like Ghost Hunters (the fake show was even called Ghostfacers! I don't even know what to make of that. Is it mocking GH? I love GH!). It was funny. Answer to the episode's problem: GAY LOVE. Between a living human being and a ghost.

Time 5:56. Yey!

One More To Go...

Supernatural is BACK!!!

I've just seen the first three episodes of the second season. I must say, I don't know what to say. (???)

On one hand, it's great to know what happened next after that awful cliff-hanger. (It wasn't like, ugly awful. It's more like why-do-you-have-to-keep-us-hanging-like-this kind of awful.) At least someone is alive (guess who!).

On the other hand...well, I think these episodes are a bit...tamer? I think? Than the episodes of last season. Although the third one, Bloodlust, was a bit grotesque, but this time, the show is more focused on the brothers' feelings...*hint hint* they're missing someone.

The first and third episodes were pretty great in their own way. The emotions were intense. I have to admit, Dean and Sam were getting a bit predictable, but I'm not complaining. I love them guys!!!

I don't wanna get into the story too much because some might not have seen them yet (and would kill me for being such a spoiler if I did). All I can say is, it's worth the wait. It wasn't what I expected, but I know that it's just gonna get better.

Now, I have my last exam tomorrow. I gotta go. No, I'm too lazy to study yet. I'm just gonna enjoy my Oreos!

LSS--> Last Show Syndrome

Ah...the cool airconditioned atmosphere of the library is very soothing after being exposed to scorching heat all day. I feel so sticky, and with my current semi-depressed state plus the horrible quiz results (although they're better than the previous ones), this is indeed a bad day. And I have to stay until 6pm for some NSTP spiritual thingy.

Now, to take my mind off how sucky this day is, I'm going to talk about my current addictions.

I've downloaded several TV series (hooorah!) and they laid stuck in my hard drive for some days. One boring I-forgot what-day-it-was day, I decided to start watching Supernatural. I absolutely am fascinated by this show when I first saw its trailer in AXN, but I wasn't able to keep track of it regularly because I didn't know the showing schedule. So I downloaded it. So then, I watched it.

It was GRRRRRREAAATTT!!!!!!!!!

Well, except for a couple of sucky episodes, it was great. I was hooked! I watched it until the wee hours of the morning. It's about these two brothers whose mom got killed by some paranormal monster. She died, stuck on the ceiling, her belly bloody, and she burst into flames. Now, after that incident, Sam and Dean Winchester's dad got caught up in hunting for the monster that killed his wife. The boys grew up to be hunters. Dean, the older brother, stayed with his dad, while Sam, faught with his dad often and eventually went his own way to college. So one day, their dad went on a hunting trip and didn't come back for days. Dean went to get Sam, but he refused to come with. After his girlfriend got barbecued the same way as his mother, he agreed to go.

So there, that's where everythign began. They met murderous shadows, killer ghosts, Tibetan thought forms and crazy people. It was great, funny at times. They're the cutest brothers I've ever seen (haha!), some of the scenes gay-ish at times. But still, they're hot. Dean is indeed handsome, but I find Sam's college boy look and attitude more endearing. Which brings me to the introdction of my first obssesion:

JARED PADALECKI a.k.a. Sam Winchester

He was also in Gilmore Girls and House of Wax, the one with Paris Hilton (I didn't know who he was then, but I thought he was cute. Pity he died a minute into the film)

I consumed the whole first season of Supernatural in less than a week (I think maybe three days?). A couple of days after, I had to watch something. TV got boring. So I chose to see House M.D. I first saw this show way back, I think a year ago, I don't remember exactly. I didn't like it then. I've read a lot of good reviews though, and heard of the show winning some awards. I guess I didn't really watch. But then a few weeks ago, I saw an episode where they were treating a 9 year old girl with terminal cancer. This really cute doctor (whom I didn't see before) was preping her fo MRI, and then the kid said that she haven't been kissed by a boy before, and was afraid that she'd never be able to with her condition. Dr. Chase (the cute doc) refused when she asked him to kiss her. He was initially unmoved by her condition, but right then and there, I guess he kind of softened up. He gave her a kiss. (I wish I was her!!!!!!!!!!!! Minus the cancer and other illnesses!) Ok, so that's not the whole reason why I watch the show. Dr. House (hence the title) is a terrific doctor. Head of the diagnostic department, he is an insufferable, pompous ass with sarcasm as his first language. But I can't deny that he is brilliant, absolutely brilliant! He's so intelligent and stubborn. His colleagues are outraged by his crazy calls but in the end, he always turns out right. I have the last episode of season 2 to watch later and I'm really really sad because I have to wait again for succeeding episodes. House actually got me thinking about going to med school! But I have to think about that. I have 2 years. Haha!

And so, the most adorable doctor I've seen, who I'd willingly get sick for in order to just get examined by is...

JESSE SPENCER a.k.a. Dr. Robert Chase

His name is so familiar. I know I've seen it somewhere before, I just don't know where. He's in Neighbors, the Aussie show (he is Aussie; I thought he was Brit). And then I read that he's the guy in Uptown Girl, the boyfriend of Brittany Murphy's character there. Ok. So that's where I saw him. He was so cute there, the character I didn't like much, but he was so cute there. I like him better as a doctor. :)

So now, I've killed an hour. Time for the spiritual thingy!
